A resin detail set that captures the British Vickers K aircraft machine gun of the Second World War period in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for superdetailing. The package holds a pair, two resin castings, to be built into an aircraft kit.
The Vickers K, also known as the VGO, was a British aircraft machine gun of 7.7 mm caliber (.303 British) working on gas operation, with a high rate of fire and a pan magazine on top. In the Second World War it served as a flexible weapon in open cockpits and at defensive positions, and it also found use on the light vehicles of desert units.
The set captures the typical form of the aircraft Vickers K with a pan magazine. It suits British aircraft of the Second World War with a flexible defensive or observer's weapon.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The mechanism and the magazine come out well with a dark metal base, a fine dry brush and a discreet patina.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin castings. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
