An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Yakovlev UT-1 trainer in its floatplane guise, in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer Mikromir. The small single-seat low-wing monoplane is fitted here with floats for taking off from and landing on water.
The UT-1 was a Soviet single-seat training and sports aircraft of the 1930s, designed by the Yakovlev bureau. It served for continuation training of pilots and, to a limited extent, for further tasks as well. The floatplane version allowed operation from the water and served to train floatplane pilots.
Cut the tiny parts and the float struts away carefully and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. We recommend an undercoat, airbrush spraying and sensitive highlighting of the fabric texture. The bracing and the rigging wires can be added with stretched filament for extra realism.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
