The package combines two subjects in one scale: a Soviet single-engine fighter in winter configuration with ski landing gear and a light truck with the quadruple 4M machine gun mount. It is therefore a combined kit from which both an aircraft and a vehicle result, not a single model. It is exactly this combination that makes the package a ready basis for a winter diorama. The composition of the package, the technology of the parts and the number of parts are given in the instructions supplied with the kit.
The Yak-1 was the basic type of the Soviet fighter school of the early 1940s, a single-engine low-wing monoplane of mixed construction with a liquid-cooled engine. At field airfields, skis were commonly used instead of wheels in winter so that the machine could operate on snow. The designation polutorka caught on for the light truck with a load capacity of one and a half tons, which formed the backbone of supply. The quadruple 4M mount was an anti-aircraft machine gun system on a carriage that was also fitted on the beds of trucks.
Proceed separately: finish the aircraft and the vehicle apart and bring them together only on the base of the diorama. Separate the small parts, especially the barrels and the carriage of the mount, under a magnifier so that they do not snap. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: thin cement for plastic, cyanoacrylate for small and non-porous parts. Winter camouflage builds up nicely by overspraying the base color with thinned white, which you partly wipe off with a damp brush once it has dried, so that the original shade appears under it. Tune the snow on the base with modeling paste and dust the wheels and the skis with a light pigment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
