This kit in 1:65 scale from Revell covers the Outland TIE Fighter, that is the variant of the well-known Imperial fighter that viewers know from the series The Mandalorian. Characteristic features of the craft are the side panels carried on pylons and the landing arrangement of the legs, thanks to which the model stands even out of the flight position. The 1:65 scale is usual for this range of science fiction models, and the choice of accessories matches it, so once assembled the model fits well into a display case with other kits from the same world.
The Outland TIE Fighter is a fictional craft from the Star Wars universe. Against the classic TIE fighter it has a sturdier arrangement with fixed legs, which allow landing and standing on a surface, so it reads more as a working and patrol type than as a pure space fighter. The silhouette stays recognizable: a spherical cockpit in the middle and two large side panels at the sides. It is precisely that simple, strongly geometric line that makes the model a rewarding object for a display case — the surface, the shading and the wear all stand out on it.
Before building, check in the instructions how the parts are joined and prepare the glue accordingly. We recommend assembling the large flat panels and filling any gaps before you start painting, because every unevenness shows on them. Science fiction subjects look best when they do not stop at a uniform gray shade: spray a primer, then the base color, and bring the surface to life with a gentle difference of shade between panels. Pick out the engraved lines with a thin pooling, apply a dry brush carefully to the edges in a lighter tone and add discreet traces of wear. Paint and finish the cockpit before you close it up. At the end, unify the whole model with a matte varnish.
