This resin kit in 1:700 scale captures the German Artilleriefährprahm (AFP) gun barge from the period of the Second World War. It is a resin kit intended for experienced modelers.
The Artilleriefährprahm was the gun version derived from the Marinefährprahm type D landing craft. These heavily armed craft were used to escort convoys, to shell the shore and to lay mines. As a rule they carried 88 mm guns rounded out by lighter anti-aircraft armament. The flat hull and the prominent gun positions give the model a characteristic silhouette.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand them down with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The model stands out well on a water surface as a waterline build and in a harbor diorama. Photo-etched railings, an airbrush, fine washes and drybrushing to bring out the gun positions and the deck are recommended.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
