MASTER IJN 20 cm/50 3rd Year Type No.2 – barrels without canvas blast bags (1:700) is a set of ten turned brass barrels for the Japanese heavy cruiser gun of 203 mm (8 inch) caliber. A replacement detail for a build, not a standalone model.

The set contains ten turned brass barrels for the Japanese 203 mm (8 inch, 20 cm) heavy naval gun of 50 calibers length, the 3rd Year Type No. 2, in the build for turrets without canvas blast bags, in 1:700 scale. Canvas blast bags are the flexible covers at the point where the barrel comes out of the turret. The metal barrels from MASTER replace the plastic parts. It is not a ship model but a detail accessory.
The 20 cm/50 3rd Year Type No. 2 gun (203 mm caliber) was the main armament of most Japanese heavy cruisers. In turrets without canvas blast bags the barrels come straight out of the turret face, which is typical of certain builds and periods.
Cut off the plastic barrels, clean up the turret faces and glue the turned parts in with cyanoacrylate. Ten pieces cover several triple turrets. Treat the metal with a primer before painting.
The set contains only the turned barrels. The ship model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
