An injection-molded plastic kit of two fast missile boats of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (J.M.S.D.F.) in 1:700 scale from the waterline range of the Japanese brand Aoshima. The package holds the parts for building both vessels, Wakataka and Kumataka, as a model with the hull at waterline level, suitable for a flat diorama water surface as well as for a display case.
These are small fast missile craft intended to defend the Japanese coast and straits. Boats of this type are marked by a low silhouette, high speed and armament of anti-ship guided missiles supplemented by a gun turret. They serve for rapid deployment in coastal waters and for patrol duty.
Glue the tiny plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and work with a sharp knife, because the elements of the armament and the superstructure are very fine in this scale. We recommend applying a primer first, then shades of naval gray with an airbrush, and finally picking out the decks and railings with a dry brush and fine washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
