Twenty turned barrels of the Japanese 14 cm naval gun with a length of 50 calibers in 1:700 scale, shaped for turrets without canvas blast bags.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 14 cm gun designated 3rd Year Type was part of the armament of Imperial Japanese Navy ships. The figure 50 after the slash is not the caliber but the length of the barrel expressed in multiples of the caliber: fifty times fourteen centimeters gives a barrel roughly seven meters long. A long barrel gives the shell a higher muzzle velocity and with it a flatter trajectory. In 1:700 scale such a barrel works out at one centimeter, so every tenth of a millimeter counts on it.
Twenty turned barrels, according to the name of the item. A turned part has a circular section along its whole length and a drilled muzzle, which is not a matter of course on a kit part in this scale: a plastic barrel tends to be thicker, carries lengthwise traces of manufacture and usually has the muzzle only suggested. The barrels are shaped for turrets without canvas blast bags, that is for the version where the opening between the barrel and the front face of the turret is not covered.
The barrels alone are supplied, in the number given in the name. The ship model, the turrets, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
