A supplementary set of armament and equipment parts for Japanese ships in 1:700 scale, the fifth part of the range from the manufacturer Pit-Road. An accessory for raising detail, not a ship model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The fifth set from the range of supplementary parts for ship models in 1:700 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Pit-Road. The package does not contain a ship model. In it are small parts intended to replace or complete the equipment of a kit that is simplified for production reasons.
The 1:700 scale is unforgiving in that you see a whole ship at once, and so you notice immediately when some element is needlessly bulky. Separately produced supplementary parts tend to be thinner, to have crisper edges and more faithful proportions, so once they are used the model looks better balanced. At the same time they can be used to repair an old kit from which some of the parts have been lost. The make-up of this particular package is stated on the box.
With parts of this size the painting decides the result more than the gluing itself. Apply thin coats, ideally with an airbrush at low pressure, so that the fine detail does not get flooded. A sense of depth comes from a dark wash that runs into the recesses and from a very fine dry brush in a lighter shade along the edges. Do not overdo the contrast: on a model the size of a palm, exaggerated weathering looks unnatural. Before gluing, try the parts dry to see how they sit and level any mating surfaces, so that a part does not stand crooked.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
