A plastic deck sheet for a model of the Japanese battleship Fuso in the 1942 and 1944 versions, 1:700 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fuso was a Japanese battleship that everyone remembers by its tall, busy forward superstructure. The designations 1942 and 1944 refer to two forms of the ship from the later part of its service; between them the equipment and the layout of the deck changed, which is why the deck sheets for the individual periods differ. Anyone building the ship to a particular date will appreciate being able to choose the form that matches the chosen version.
The sheet is plastic and it imitates a planked deck with all the cutouts for the superstructures, the turrets and the deck fittings. In 1:700 scale the planking practically disappears on the smooth plastic of a kit; covering it with a deck sheet is the quickest way to get an even deck pattern onto a model, something that hand painting could not manage so finely.
First lay it on dry and check that all the cutouts sit in their places; small adjustments are far easier to make before the sheet is fixed down. Fit the superstructures and the turrets onto the deck only after the sheet is in place, not the other way round. Fix it down following the manufacturer's instructions. Work with clean hands, because a fingerprint is clearly visible on a large continuous surface and hard to remove. If you are going to tone the sheet, do it with very thin paint in several steps, so that the pattern of the planking stays readable.
The package holds a deck sheet. The model of the ship, paints, glue and photo-etched accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
