Injection-molded plastic kit of the American command ship USS Blue Ridge LCC-19 from Trumpeter in 1:700 scale. According to the instructions the model can be built with a full hull on the enclosed stand or as a waterline version. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the box and any photo-etched parts, follow the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
Blue Ridge is the flagship command and control ship of the US Navy, commissioned at the beginning of the 1970s. She was not built as a combat unit but as a floating command post with extensive communications and radar equipment - which is why she has a characteristically clean deck without large gun turrets and a mass of antennas and domes. For many years she has served as the flagship of the 7th Fleet in the Pacific.
With ships, first glue and fill the hull carefully so that no seams show on the sides. Paint the superstructures and the antennas separately and fit them only after the base coat - they are small and easily broken off. If the box contains photo-etched railings, fit them with cyanoacrylate glue at the end. A thin wash in the corners of the deck will pick out the detail; for the display case, use the enclosed stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
