Armory 1:72 AGM-158 JASSM is a resin accessory, a model of an air-launched guided missile in 1:72 scale intended to be hung under an aircraft model, not a standalone kit of an airplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set belongs among accessories for aircraft models. It contains resin castings of the AGM-158 JASSM air-launched guided missile in 1:72 scale, used to complete the stores on a finished model. It is not a model of an aircraft nor of a part of one; the base kit has to be obtained separately. Resin castings suit thin aerodynamic surfaces better than a split plastic part, because they have no parting line running across the whole body of the missile.
The AGM-158 JASSM is an American long-range air-launched guided missile intended for use beyond the reach of the target's defenses. It has a faceted body shaped for a reduced radar return and a wing that deploys after release from the carrier. It is carried by tactical as well as larger carriers, on which it travels on underwing pylons or in a weapons bay. Under the wing the missile has its wing folded, which is an essential detail when building a model.
Wash the mold release agent off the castings, cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface: on a long body it is easy to sand it out of symmetry, so keep checking against the other side. It is glued with cyanoacrylate, ideally the gel kind, so that there is time to align the position. Fit the stores only once the painting of the aircraft is finished, otherwise they get in the way during masking. The gray finishes of armament come to life nicely with very fine lightening of the upper surfaces and panel lines emphasized with a discreet wash.
The accessory is supplied unpainted, as resin castings. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
