Injection-molded plastic kit of the Czechoslovak fighter biplane in 1:72 scale from RS models. It captures the early, first production variant of the B-534 with the open, uncovered cockpit as the earliest production aircraft looked. It is a short-run kit with engraved panel lines, a simply arranged cockpit, an injection-molded windscreen and stores under the wings. The later versions had an enclosed cockpit; this box represents the early configuration.
The Avia B-534 was one of the best-known and most capable fighter biplanes of its time and a mainstay of the Czechoslovak Air Force in the second half of the 1930s. It was powered by a license-built Hispano-Suiza V12 engine and its armament consisted of machine guns. The early production aircraft still had an open cockpit, and only the later versions received an enclosed one. Despite the aging biplane layout, the B-534 was a technically advanced aircraft and popular with its pilots.
Expect the character of a short-run kit: cut the parts from the casting blocks, clean them up and dry-fit them before you glue anything. Glue the small parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The bracing wires between the wings, added with fine thread according to the diagram, are an essential step, and with the open cockpit the detailed interior will show to advantage. A primer and an airbrush are the way to go; bring the fabric surfaces to life with light shading and washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
