A resin propeller set for the Messerschmitt Bf 109E in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker AML. According to its designation the package also includes an aid that makes it easier to set the blades at the same angle. Blades set at uneven angles are the most common fault on propellers built up from individual parts, and one that even a layman notices, and the jig solves that problem.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was the main type of the German fighter force in the Battle of Britain. It was powered by an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 with direct fuel injection, which allowed inverted flight without the engine cutting out. The variable-pitch metal propeller was a modern feature for its day and its shape differed slightly between production batches.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent to clear them of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the mating surfaces. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and set the blades in the jig until the glue hardens. Spray the spinner separately from the blades, so that you get a sharp division, and before fitting it to the fuselage just slide it on dry, so that you can turn the model while painting.
The set is an accessory for a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
