The .30 caliber Browning Wing Mounted 1:72 is a resin set of four aviation machine guns for a wing installation. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for your own model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Greek manufacturer GasPatch models contains, according to the name, four .30 caliber machine guns in the form for mounting in the wing, that is the kind that shows on a model mainly through the protruding barrels and the openings in the leading edge. The higher number of pieces in one package matches the fact that on the subjects the wing batteries were built in pairs on each half. The accessory is meant to be fitted into your own kit under construction.
A wing installation moved the armament outside the propeller arc, so synchronization fell away and the possible rate of fire went up. The weapons were housed in bays between the spars, covered by panels, and only part of the barrel projected outside. The drawbacks were the convergence of the fire at one point at a certain distance and poorer access for maintenance than with an installation above the engine. The layout and the number of weapons differed from type to type.
First mark and carefully drill the openings for the barrels in the wing; drill up gradually from the smallest diameter, otherwise the plastic will crack. Wash the resin parts, cut them from the casting blocks and check that all four sit in the same plane and with the same projection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). If you are painting the wing with an airbrush, fit the machine guns only after the base color has been sprayed and has dried, so that the thin barrels do not get in the way of the masking.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
