A set of painting masks for the American General Dynamics F-111A combat aircraft in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer AML. According to its designation it is cut for the Hasegawa kit. Given the size of the machine and the broken-up shape of its surface, masking the camouflage freehand is demanding; ready-made masks cut this stage of the build down to a fraction of the time.
The F-111 was the first production combat aircraft with a variable-sweep wing. It could fly at low level at high speed with the help of a terrain-following radar, which made it an effective means of reaching a target in any weather. The F-111A version was the first production variant and was used among other places in Southeast Asia, where the type earned a good reputation after its initial troubles.
Mask the variable-sweep wing in the position the model will be displayed in, otherwise the camouflage boundary will not line up where it meets the fuselage. Press the mask down with a toothpick and spray the paint at right angles to the edge in thin coats. Build a multi-color camouflage up from the lightest shade to the darkest and always let the finish dry through between the individual colors.
This is an accessory for a kit and does not contain the model itself. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
