1:72 Combat Trainers 2 in 1: PZL P.11a and PZL.23A Karas is a double package of plastic kits of two Polish prewar aircraft from the maker IBG models.

The set from the maker IBG models brings together in one box two types of Polish aircraft of the 1930s in versions that came into their own in the training and combat training role. The designation 2 in 1 in the name means that the package covers both types at once, so you build a pair of models with a shared theme. These are injection-molded plastic kits to be glued and painted, and 1:72 scale is a popular one for prewar aircraft because of the thrifty dimensions of the finished models.
The PZL P.11 was a single-seat fighter aircraft with a characteristic cranked high-set gull wing of the so-called Polish type, which gave the pilot an exceptional view upward. The structure was all-metal, with fixed landing gear and a radial engine. The P.11a version was one of the earlier production forms of the type. The PZL.23 Karas, by contrast, was a three-seat single-engined low-wing aircraft meant for light bombing and reconnaissance, with fixed landing gear in aerodynamic fairings and with a characteristic gondola under the fuselage for the gunner and the observer. The 23A version was the first production form, with a less powerful engine, which in service came into its own above all in training.
With both types it pays to begin with the cockpit and the inner structure, because in a small scale you can no longer reach it once the fuselage is closed. Build the fixed landing gear with its struts by the drawing in the instructions and check its geometry until the glue has set. Polish prewar aircraft are often built in a single-color scheme, which you will bring to life by lightening the surfaces, with a fine wash into the scribed lines and with a discreet grading of shades between the panels. Varnish the surfaces with a gloss coat before the decals, use a softener once it has dried and close the surface with a matte varnish. Add the small bracing and the antennas at the end from a thin filament.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
