An injection-molded plastic kit of the American prewar Curtiss P-36C Hawk fighter in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Arma Hobby. The model depicts the characteristic P-36C version with additional machine guns in the wings and the conspicuous external cases for spent cartridges under the wings. The package contains decals for several machines, self-adhesive masks and 3D printed (resin) ammunition cases for under the wings. The particular number of parts and of marking options is given in the enclosed instructions.
The Curtiss P-36 (factory designation Hawk 75) is an American all-metal single-seat fighter of the second half of the 1930s with retractable landing gear — a transitional type between biplanes and modern fighters. The P-36C version stands out for its strengthened armament: besides the fuselage machine guns it carried additional .30 caliber machine guns in the wings, whose spent cartridges were led away by the typical external cases under the wings. It was a rare version built in small numbers.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic; clean the 3D printed (resin) ammunition cases and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. Mask the glazing with the masks supplied and paint with an airbrush. Prewar American machines often carried bold colored unit markings and a metal or aluminum finish — metallic lacquers complemented by decals suit them well. Following the instructions, the wheel wells can be built bare or fabric-lined.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
