A plastic kit of the Japanese carrier aircraft Yokosuka/Aichi D4Y Suisei, Allied code name Judy, in 1:72 scale from the Japanese brand Fujimi. Thanks to a well-thought-out tooling layout the package lets you build one of several versions: the D4Y1-C reconnaissance machine, the D4Y2 dive bomber or the D4Y2-S night fighter.
The D4Y Suisei (comet) was a fast carrier dive bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was powered by a liquid-cooled inverted V12 engine, which gave the aircraft a slender nose and high speed. Besides the classic dive bomber role, a reconnaissance version and a night fighter conversion with obliquely upward-firing armament against bombers were also produced. Toward the end of the war the machines were also used in suicide attacks.
Before building, decide which version you want to make; they differ mainly in the engine, the cowling and the equipment. Degrease the parts before painting, apply a primer and spray the shades with an airbrush. Bring out the fine engraved lines with a flowing panel line accent; apply the decals over a gloss coat and even the surface out at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
