A sheet of waterslide decals from HAD models with the period markings of Focke-Wulf Fw 190 aircraft in the F-8 version. The sheet serves as a replacement for or an addition to the decals from the box and is prepared in 1:72 scale. Its contents are the markings of particular machines, including codes and numbers.
The Fw 190 F-8 is the ground attack version derived from the A-8 fighter variant. It differs from the fighter in strengthened armor over the lower fuselage and the cockpit, revised armament and above all racks for bombs under the fuselage and the wing. The aircraft was powered by an air-cooled BMW 801 radial engine, which gave the airframes of the 190 family their characteristic short, broad nose. The F version was intended for attacks on ground targets and kept the sturdy structure of the whole family.
Go over the base under the decals with gloss clear coat, as matte paint causes silvering. Cut the codes and numbers close to the artwork, so that the carrier film cannot be seen once they have dried. Soak the decal in warm water, let it release from the backing of its own accord and slide it onto the surface. Press it home across the engraved panel lines and the armament fairings with a softener. Once it has dried perfectly, unify the surface with matte varnish and only then lay on washes and pigments.
