A vacuum-formed clear canopy in 1:72 scale for a model of the Dornier Do-27, or the CASA C-127. Intended for the Special Hobby kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dornier Do-27 is a single-engine high-wing aircraft with fixed landing gear, created after the Second World War as a light general-purpose machine for liaison, observation and transport duties. The large cabin glazing gave it a view far below the level of the seats, and the rugged landing gear allowed operation from short grass strips. In Spain the same type was built under license as the CASA C-127. It is precisely the glazing that is the most conspicuous part of the fuselage on a model of such an aircraft, because it takes up a large area on both sides.
A vacuum-formed clear canopy in 1:72 scale, cut for the Special Hobby kit. The drawn film holds a considerably smaller thickness than the thick-walled part from the kit, so the frames look finer and the interior shows better. The packaging and the manufacturer's instructions give the scope of the delivery and which parts of the glazing it covers.
The part is drawn on a carrier sheet and has to be released from it. Trace the outline with a fine marker, cut it out with an allowance using a sharp blade and sand the excess away on fine sandpaper laid on a flat board. Sand in short strokes and keep checking how the part sits on the fuselage, because you can always take more off but never put it back. Polishing and a thin coat of gloss clear will even out the matte edge left by sanding.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
