The Douglas A-26 Invader was a twin-engine all-metal attack aircraft with piston radial engines, arranged as a high-wing aircraft with a nose wheel. Version C differed from the variant with a solid gun nose in having a glazed nose with a station for the crew member responsible for navigation and for the drop. The type was relatively fast and found use long after the war as well. For a modeler it is interesting for its clean shapes and extensive smooth areas of fuselage.
The most frequent fault with decals on a smooth aircraft is silvering, that is, a white or grayish veil under the film. It arises from air enclosed between the decal and the surface. You will prevent it with a glossy base, a sufficient amount of water under the decal while seating it and by pressing the bubbles out from the center toward the edge. If silvering appears all the same, pierce the film in the affected area with the tip of a fresh blade and apply a drop of softener, which will get under the film and draw the area down. Carry the intervention out before the decal has dried completely.
