A finished collector model from the Easy Model range. The aircraft is assembled and painted at the factory, markings included, so you need no glue, paints or decals and you can display the model straight away. It is not a kit, even though the scale matches ordinary 1:72 kits.
The Heinkel He 162 was a single-engine jet aircraft of the closing stage of the Second World War, with the engine mounted on top of the fuselage, twin vertical tail surfaces and a design aimed at quick and cheap production with a limited proportion of strategic materials. The type was created under great pressure of time and operating it was demanding, among other things because of the short service life of the jet engines of the day. After the war the surviving machines were the subject of technical evaluation in several countries, where they served for trials and for analysis of the design.
The model works well as part of a shelf devoted to the beginnings of jet aviation. Beside piston fighters of the same scale, the different concept of the fuselage, the different distribution of masses and the different arrangement of the tail are all visible at first glance. If you are putting such a display case together, it helps to leave a gap between the exhibits and to orient them the same way, so that the differences in shape stand out.
Take hold of the model by the fuselage and avoid pulling on the tail surfaces and the canopy. Remove the dust dry with a soft brush; water and detergent are not used. Do not expose the model to direct sun or to radiant heat.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. It is not a kit; nothing is glued or painted.
