Fokker D.VII rib tapes pink in 1:72 scale is a set of rib tape decals from the Czech maker Eduard. It is not a kit, but decals that replace hand-painted tapes on the fabric covering of the wings, in the pink version.

The item is a set of waterslide decals, not a model. It contains so-called rib tapes, that is the narrow strips that on the real aircraft covered the stitching of the fabric to the wing ribs. On a model this is a detail that stands out strongly on fabric covering and that is slow and almost always inaccurate to paint by hand. The Eduard decals take that work over and keep the same width and spacing of the tapes across the whole span. The version matches the pink shade given in the name of the set.
The Fokker D.VII was a German single-seat fighter biplane from the end of the First World War, with a steel tube fuselage and a thick wing section. The flying surfaces had fabric covering, and the ribs were covered with narrow tapes once the stitching was done. The color of those tapes differed from aircraft to aircraft according to the covering fabric used and the finishing scheme, which is why the tapes are made in several shades.
Work over a smooth gloss coat. Cut the tapes out one at a time and move them with smooth-jawed tweezers, because they are very narrow and wrinkle easily. First mark the position of the ribs lightly on the model so that the spacing holds across the whole span, and work from the root toward the wingtip. Use a decal softener sparingly and only once the tape is seated, otherwise it shrinks before you have time to straighten it. Once dry, wash the surface with clean water and seal it with a matte varnish, which evens out the sheen of the covering and hides the edges of the carrier film.
The set contains decals only. The kit, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
