Resin wheels with weighted tires for a model of the Junkers Ju 188 in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker Armory. An accessory for a model, not an aircraft kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast wheels with weighted tires for a model of the German Junkers Ju 188 bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from your own kit. The underside of the tire is cast flattened, as if the weight of the machine were pressing on the wheel. The casting is in one piece, so no parting line from two halves is left on the tire. The box describes the set as universal.
The Ju 188, nicknamed Rächer, was a twin-engine bomber that Junkers developed from the Ju 88. You can tell it from its predecessor by the glazed and considerably enlarged nose, the pointed wingtips and the taller, square vertical tail. Most machines had Jumo 213 engines, while the E version got air-cooled BMW 801s. It went into service in 1943 and was used as a bomber, a torpedo carrier and a high-altitude reconnaissance machine. It inherited one large main wheel on each leg from the Ju 88.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and sand the face down, protecting your breathing while you sand. Glue with cyanoacrylate, that is, super glue; cement for polystyrene does not hold on resin. Point the flattened part of the tire toward the base and align both sides. Spray a primer before painting.
The set is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
