A detail set of cast resin for the Soviet Lavochkin La-5FN fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker AML. According to its designation it is cut for the kits from Kovozavody Prostejov, Zvezda and Revell. Resin makes it possible to bring out details that simply will not fit into injection-molded plastic at this scale, and so it lifts a model without a major change to the way it is built.
The La-5FN was the top variant of the Lavochkin La-5 fighter, powered by a twin-row Shvetsov radial engine with direct fuel injection. The wooden structure of the airframe was cheap and undemanding in strategic materials, yet its performance at low and medium altitudes was among the best the Soviet Air Force had in 1943. The machine became famous in the fighting around Kursk and was the forerunner of the later La-7.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surfaces on sandpaper laid on a flat board. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Try everything dry before gluing it into the fuselage, because resin cannot be reshaped like plastic. Use respiratory protection when sanding and sand wet if you can.
The set is an accessory for a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
