A kit of the carrier-borne fighter Martlet Mk.I, that is the British configuration of the export type G-36, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Martlet was the British name for the American carrier-borne fighter from Grumman, which in home service flew under the name Wildcat. The Mk.I version was based on the export configuration designated G-36. Machines originally ordered by France were taken over by Britain after 1940 and placed among the first American fighters in its service. It was a stocky single-seat aircraft with a radial engine, a short fuselage and a high-set cockpit, whose shape cannot be mistaken for anything else.
It is a kit of the aircraft in 1:72 scale, which is the most widespread for fighters and the best to collect in, because finished models take up the least room on a shelf. The contents of the package, the number of parts and the color schemes are described in the manufacturer's instructions.
A small scale forgives less than it seems. Try the joints dry beforehand, putty them and sand them back, because it is exactly the fuselage joint and the leading edge of the wing that give themselves away most once sprayed. The cockpit is clearly visible on this aircraft, so it pays to finish it before you close the fuselage. Before painting, wash the model, degrease it and lay on a base. Leave the landing gear and the propeller until the end of the build, so that they are not broken while handling it. Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss surface, as white edges will appear under them on a matte base.
The kit will please builders of Second World War naval aviation and collectors of fighters in 1:72 scale alike. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
