The F-4C/D Phantom II ADVANCED mask in 1:72 scale from New Ware

The set in the ADVANCED form stands between the basic and the highest grade of extent. The contents are a self-adhesive masking film with precisely cut shapes for the parts of a model of the Phantom II in the C and D versions. It is not a kit but an accessory you use at the painting stage.

What the middle grade handles

The basic extent covers the essentials around the glazing and the wheels. The middle grade goes further and takes work away on surfaces that would otherwise have to be taped around or replaced with a decal. For 1:72 scale it is a practical compromise: the smaller the model, the harder it is to cut a mask by hand and the more ready-made cutouts pay off.

Spraying tips

• Spray the model with a base coat before masking; it evens the surface out and the mask then does not reveal differences in the base.
• Seal the edge of the mask with a thin spray of the base color, and only then spray the target shade.
• Work the airbrush square to the surface and at lower pressure, as an angled stream drives paint under the film.
• With multi-color schemes, mask progressively from the lighter shades to the darker ones.
• Lift the mask off before applying the gloss varnish under the decals, otherwise the edge will be flooded with varnish.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want to be finished after spraying with no repairs by brush and do not need the very widest extent. A good choice if you build regularly and want to save time.

The package contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery.
