An injection-molded plastic kit of the MiG-25RBT aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is a separate boxing with artwork of its own; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, it is assembled by gluing and painted with an airbrush or a brush. The particular contents of the decal sheet are given bindingly on the packaging.
The MiG-25, under the NATO reporting name Foxbat, was a twin-engine machine from the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau designed for flight at very high speeds and altitudes. Because of aerodynamic heating, its structure was largely welded from stainless steel rather than from light alloys. It was powered by two turbojets with afterburners, its operating speed lay in the band around three times the speed of sound, and its ceiling exceeded twenty kilometers. The designation RBT belongs to the family of reconnaissance-bomber versions derived from the MiG-25RB, which combined reconnaissance equipment in the nose with the ability to carry bomb armament; the individual sub-versions differed from one another in the installation of reconnaissance and electronic systems. Machines of this type served not only with the Soviet Air Force but also with a number of foreign users.
The model has a long slender fuselage with massive side air intakes — the joints around the nacelles and the spine will call for careful filling and sanding, because a gap in these places is clearly visible on the finished model. Finish and paint the cockpit and the undercarriage bays before you close the fuselage up. Mask the glazing and glue it with cement made for clear parts so that it does not go dull. Apply a primer before painting; it will reveal any remaining sanding marks. Use gloss clear under the decals and, once it has dried, unify the surface with matte or semi-gloss clear according to the scheme you have chosen.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
