An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet experimental Moskalev SAM-13 fighter in 1:72 scale from Mikromir. It is a short-run kit in injection-molded plastic, to be glued together and painted.
The SAM-13 was a Soviet experimental fighter designed by Alexander Moskalev in the late 1930s. It stood out for its unusual twin-boom layout with two engines in a tractor and pusher arrangement, their propellers mounted at the nose and at the tail of a short central nacelle. The aircraft stayed at the prototype stage and never reached series production.
On a short-run kit clean the parts up carefully and fill and sand the joints. Glue them with thin liquid plastic cement and use cyanoacrylate for the fine parts. Apply a primer before painting and lay the color on in thin coats; the characteristic twin booms come out well with a light panel line wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
