1:72 Piaggio PC-7 wooden trestle from the brand SBS Model is a model of the wooden supporting trestle for the Piaggio-Pegna PC.7 racing seaplane. It is not an aircraft or a kit but an accessory for a model from the same maker.
Responsibility details are not available.
A miniature of the wooden trestle on which the Piaggio-Pegna PC.7 racing seaplane rested out of the water. It is an accessory on its own for a model, not a kit of the aircraft: there is no aircraft in the package and the trestle on its own does not make a complete model. It is cut for the PC.7 kit from the same maker, with which together it makes it possible to build a whole scene. The material of the parts and their number are given on the packaging of the set.
The Piaggio-Pegna PC.7 was an Italian experimental racing machine of the turn of the 1920s and 1930s, built for seaplane speed contests. It had no ordinary floats, and out of the water it therefore had nothing to stand on; a supporting structure served precisely for handling it and setting it down. In a display case this trestle solves a practical problem: a model without floats has no way of standing and without a support it looks unfinished. At the same time it is the simplest way of giving a model context without building a whole diorama.
For modelers who build the PC.7 in 1:72 scale and want to display the model as the machine looked on shore, and for anyone interested in interwar racing seaplanes and display-case scenes.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package.
