1:72 Polikarpov Po-2/U-2 - Captured PO-2

ROP Polikarpov Po-2/U-2 Captured PO-2 - decal set 1:72

This decal set from ROP in 1:72 scale is not a kit and not a model. It is an accessory, a sheet of waterslide decals that serves to render captured machines of the Soviet Polikarpov Po-2/U-2 biplane in foreign service. You apply the decals to a Po-2 model that is already built and painted, from any manufacturer in the same scale.

Contents and use

• A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale
• Markings for captured Po-2/U-2 machines in foreign service
• Settle the decals onto gloss varnish, ideally with a setting and softening solution
• Push out the air bubbles and go over them with matte or semi-gloss varnish once dry

The real subject

The Polikarpov Po-2, originally the U-2, was an exceptionally widespread Soviet general-purpose biplane: a trainer, a liaison machine and a night bomber. A number of these aircraft fell into captivity during the war and served in the colors of other states, which is an ideal subject for exactly this set of markings.

Who the set is for

• For modelers building the Po-2/U-2 in 1:72 scale
• For enthusiasts of the less usual markings of captured machines
• For builders of dioramas and collectors of out-of-the-ordinary camouflage variants

The set holds decals only. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
