Panavia Tornado GR.1 exhaust nozzles 1:72 is a resin replacement for the exhaust nozzles of a model of the Tornado combat aircraft. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory from the Czech manufacturer Eduard.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the workshop of the Czech manufacturer Eduard replaces the exhaust nozzles from a kit with parts cast in resin. Simplified plastic nozzles are among the most visible weaknesses of Tornado models, because the viewer sees them from behind at first glance. Please note that this is not an aircraft model but an accessory that cannot be built on its own.
The Panavia Tornado is a two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-sweep wing, developed in international cooperation. The GR.1 version was the strike and reconnaissance variant of the Royal Air Force, derived from the basic IDS form. It was powered by a pair of Turbo-Union RB199 engines with afterburners, so the shape and the layout of the end nozzles are very characteristic of the aircraft's silhouette.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove any mold release agent from the mold. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a cutter and level the face with a file; protect your airways when sanding resin. It is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate, because ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on resin. We recommend a primer before painting; metallic shades and a dark wash show best on a nozzle.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
