A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale for a model of the American Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter. It is made by the Polish firm Techmod under part number 72103 and printed by offset. Among the options is machine P-47D-25-RE with the code HV-A of the 61st Fighter Squadron of the 56th Fighter Group, associated with Francis Gabreski. It is not a kit, the decals add to or replace the sheet from a plastic kit.
The Thunderbolt was the heaviest American single-engine fighter of the Second World War. It was driven by an air-cooled R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine with a turbocharger in the rear fuselage, and its armament was eight 12.7 mm machine guns. The P-47D was built in the largest numbers, first with a framed canopy and later with a bubble canopy. The late P-47M with a more powerful engine was built in small numbers to chase fast targets over Europe.
The Thunderbolt's bare metal surfaces take a decal with no further preparation, but coat matte camouflage under the motif with a gloss varnish. Cut the motifs out one by one, dip them briefly in lukewarm water and slide them onto the model. Settle the large fuselage codes with a decal softener and finally seal the whole model with a clear coat of the sheen you want.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
