An injection-molded plastic kit of the Swedish SAAB 37 Viggen combat aircraft in its strike and reconnaissance forms (AJS/AJSF/AJSH) in 1:72 scale from Tarangus. The boxing contains decals for four different machines - from a gray one through two splinter camouflage schemes to a bare metal version - and a resin nose for the radar fit. Different canard surfaces and a small ram-air turbine are usually included as well.
The SAAB 37 Viggen was a Swedish supersonic combat aircraft with a distinctive canard layout - foreplanes ahead of the main wing - and a powerful engine with a thrust reverser for landing on short road strips. The AJS version and its reconnaissance subvariants served as multirole attack and reconnaissance machines of the Swedish Air Force; some still fly today in historic operation.
Wash the resin nose to remove the mold release agent and glue it with super glue; use thin modeling cement on the plastic. Decide on the version in advance - the canard surfaces and the stores differ. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage and protect the glazing with a mask. The iconic Swedish splinter camouflage is best managed with an airbrush, masking the hard edges; apply primer before painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
