Eduard 1:72 Shackleton AEW.2 landing flaps is a photo-etched set for sharpening up the landing flaps of a plastic model of the Avro Shackleton AEW.2. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds stainless steel photo-etch aimed at the landing flaps of a plastic model of the Avro Shackleton AEW.2 in 1:72 scale. It lets you show the flaps lowered with the fine structure of the ribs and the mechanism that injection-molded plastic cannot capture. The set is not an aircraft model in itself; it is an accessory to the base kit.
The Avro Shackleton was a British four-engine military aircraft with long range, derived from the Lancaster and Lincoln bombers. The AEW.2 (Airborne Early Warning) version served with the Royal Air Force as an early warning aircraft with a prominent ventral radome. It stayed in service right into the 1990s.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a firm surface and bonded as a rule with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Make the bends along the score line, ideally in a bending tool. Degrease the parts before painting. The set shows at its best on a model built with the flaps lowered.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a kit. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
