Slovak National Uprising 1944 / Part I is a set of modeling decals in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker AML Decals, devoted to Lavochkin La-5FN fighters from the period of the Slovak National Uprising.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale, not a kit. The set is intended for models of the Lavochkin La-5FN fighter and holds two color options: machines with the fuselage numbers 12 and 69 of the 1st Czechoslovak Independent Fighter Air Regiment, which operated from the Tri Duby airfield in the second half of September 1944. Color drawings of the camouflage and the placing of the insignia are included in the box.
The Slovak National Uprising broke out at the end of August 1944, and its air component was strengthened by the 1st Czechoslovak Independent Fighter Air Regiment, armed with Soviet La-5FNs. The aircraft operated from improvised bases in central Slovakia, among them the Tri Duby airfield. The La-5FN was a fighter of mixed wood and metal construction with a supercharged radial engine, valued for its good performance at low and medium altitudes.
Apply the decals to a smooth surface coated with a gloss varnish, otherwise silvery edges will form. Cut the part out as close as possible, soak it in warm water and transfer it with a wetted brush or tweezers. To settle it on rows of rivets and engraved lines, use a decal softener, blot off the excess water and, once dry, seal it with a matte or semi-matte varnish. On the wooden structure of the La-5FN, gentle shading of the panels before varnishing stands out well.
Decals are a modeling addition. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
