A resin replacement engine cover with radiator for the Spitfire Mk. IX in 1:72 scale from Aires/Quickboost. An accurate casting for refining the front of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set brings a precisely cast engine cover with the radiator for models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory replacing the plastic parts of a kit, which refines the shape of both the cowling and the underwing radiator.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX was a British single-engine fighter of the Second World War with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The liquid-cooled engine needed radiators placed under the wings; their shape and depth differed between variants and are among the characteristic details of the real aircraft.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and clean up the faces that meet the fuselage and the wing. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand resin with respiratory protection. Use a primer before painting, which will reveal any unevenness.
This is an accessory for a model, not a stand-alone kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
