This is a kit of a construction machine in 1:72 scale, not a finished model. Brassica has long devoted itself to Czechoslovak utility and civilian vehicles and the Stavostroj VV 100 fits into that line. The exact package contents, the number of parts and the extent of any decals are not stated here.
The Stavostroj VV 100 is a vibratory roller, a machine used to compact base layers and asphalt surfaces when building roads and paved areas. Machines from the Stavostroj works in Nove Mesto nad Metuji were standard equipment on Czechoslovak building sites in the second half of the twentieth century. For a modeler it is a rewarding theme: civilian construction machinery appears only rarely in small scales and it catches the eye at once in a diorama or a display case, because it differs so clearly from the usual military subjects.
A short-run kit calls for a slow approach. Dry-fit all the parts first and only then glue them — on a small machine every deviation shows in the way the model stands on its base. Choose the glue to match the material of the part: plastic is joined with liquid cement for plastic, while resin and metal components hold reliably only with cyanoacrylate. Wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent before building and clean them up where the casting blocks were. Prime the whole model, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth surface. Construction machinery lives off its weathering: wear and shine appear quickly on the roller drum, and dust and dried mud on the frame. A dark wash emphasizes the edges and the gaps, and a dry brush picks out the sharp shapes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
