A resin accessory set from the manufacturer LP Models in 1:72 scale. According to the name this is the most extensive variant of the series for this machine: besides a boarding ladder to be brought up, in the earlier form, and wheel chocks, it also holds a service ladder, that is, an aid for the work of ground personnel on the higher areas of the aircraft. It is not a kit of the aircraft, but equipment of the apron, which creates a story around a finished model.
The Su-27 is a Soviet twin-engined heavy fighter aircraft for gaining air superiority. On it the fuselage and the wing pass smoothly one into the other, the engines are in separate nacelles and the cabin is set high above the ground — which is why a ladder brought up is used for the pilot to board. The maintenance of a machine of such dimensions also cannot do without separate service ladders and platforms, by which technicians reach the upper surface of the airframe, the cabin and the power units. Wheel chocks are among the standard equipment of the apron with an aircraft as heavy as this.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw; cutters will break the thin rungs of the ladders off. Do the sanding wet and with your airways protected. They are glued with super glue applied with a pin; cement for plastic does not bite into resin. Apply a primer before painting. Service equipment looks convincing when it is not new: after the base shade, bring the edges out with a dry brush, add scrapes and fine traces of corrosion and dust the lower parts with pigment. Try the ladders dry before sticking them to the model and check that they stand straight and sit on the base on all their feet.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
