This item is not a kit and not a set of cockpit masks. It is a specialized small accessory for a model in 1:72 scale that deals with one single but slow place in the build: the engine exhaust nozzles. If you are looking for masks for the glazing, you need a different set; this one is deliberately narrow and its small extent matches that.
The rear end of a modern jet fighter is the most complicated place on the whole model in terms of color. The petals of the nozzles are normally sprayed in several metallic shades that grade from lighter titanium to dark scorched tones, and the boundary between them should be distinct rather than smeared. Such a boundary is hard to keep on a circular part by hand, because tape crinkles on a conical surface. A cut mask fits the shape of the part and lets you separate the individual bands so that the nozzle keeps a readable structure. The same masks are also useful for protecting a finished nozzle while spraying the surrounding camouflage of the fuselage.
Metallic paints are usually thinner and creep under more easily than matte covering shades, so press the mask down really thoroughly around its edge. Spray thinly and work from the lightest shade to the darkest, dosing the final dark transitions little by little. The pigment in metallic paints settles to the bottom, so stir the paint thoroughly before spraying and between passes. A finished metal surface is hard to tape over, so plan as little further masking on it as possible and leave the nozzles until the end of the build.
