This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Military Wheels covers a self-propelled anti-aircraft variant based on the T-34 tank chassis, armed with the German 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun. It is a model of a captured, or rather improvised, solution in which a proven tracked chassis was used as the carrier for a light anti-aircraft weapon.
The T-34 was a Soviet medium tank of the Second World War, prized for its tough armor, good mobility and simple construction. The 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun was a widespread German weapon against low-flying targets. The combination of a tracked carrier with a light anti-aircraft gun reflects the practice of the day with improvised self-propelled mounts.
In the small 1:72 scale, take care over clean assembly of the running gear and the fine parts of the gun. Paint the running gear before finishing the hull. For the weathering use washes in the recesses and dust pigments on the underside and the tracks. Glue with thin cement for plastic and separate the small parts with a sharp knife.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
