An injection-molded plastic kit of the German coastal submarine U 60 of type IIC in 1:400 scale from the Polish brand Mirage Hobby. The model has a full hull and comes with a base for display; the package contains plastic parts and decals. The small scale makes it a quickly built collector's piece.
Type IIC was a development version of the small German coastal submarines of the type II series. Compared with the earlier subtypes it had a slightly lengthened hull and revised equipment. U 60 entered service in the late 1930s, carried out combat patrols and later served to train crews. The type II submarines were among the mainstays of the early deployment of the German submarine fleet.
In a small scale, take care over the clean gluing of the hull halves and the conning tower and sand the joint carefully. Glue the small parts with liquid cement. Build the model with the full hull on the base. Spray the base coat with an airbrush, create the transitions between shades with masking, and accentuate the details with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
