An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M113A2 tracked armored personnel carrier in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The set contains parts in gray plastic, one-piece vinyl tracks and a decal sheet. The model captures the upgraded M113 in the standard APC configuration, that is without the gun shields typical of the ACAV version.
The M113A2 is an upgrade of the proven American M113 carrier from the end of the 1970s. It brought improved engine cooling and revised suspension, on many vehicles supplemented with smoke grenade launchers. The main armament was a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun at the commander's station. The A2 version was among the most widely used and served for a long time with armies all over the world.
Assemble and paint the running gear and any suggested interior before closing the hull. Join the vinyl tracks with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay down primer, then the base shade with an airbrush and the weathering last: washes into the recesses, highlighted details and pigments for dust and mud effects on the running gear. The flat sides of the hull come alive with light shading and worn edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
