A large set of plastic figures of Viking warriors of the 9th to 11th centuries in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. This is not a vehicle model but a big set of historical figures intended above all for tabletop wargames and large battle scenes. The set holds many figures in a range of fighting poses and can also be used with a game system for mass battles. The shields are molded separately, which gives the figures better detail; the figures have to be painted.
The Vikings were Norse warriors, seafarers and raiders of the early Middle Ages. Their weapons were above all axes, swords, spears, javelins and bows, together with round shields. The set therefore holds a varied mix of warriors, including striking fighters and a leader.
The figures are of a softer plastic, so clean up the mold lines carefully with a sharp knife. Use a fine brush and acrylic paints for figures, a dark wash in the folds and a dry brush on the raised areas. Paint the separate shields on their own, add your own patterns to them and only then fit them.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
