Aviattic: a four-color lozenge in the full width of the pattern on a white backing, 1:72: a decal sheet with the German polygonal camouflage of the First World War in a small scale, suitable for rib tapes as well.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Aviattic decal sheet with a four-color polygonal lozenge pattern for models in 1:72 scale, printed in the full width of a strip of covering fabric on an opaque white backing (white decal paper). The pattern is reduced correctly for the scale, so the polygons are the right size on a small model, and at the same time rib tapes with a saturated print can be cut from the sheet.
The four-color lozenge was one of the standard versions of the German preprinted covering fabric of the First World War. On real aircraft the fabric was laid in widths of a given size, and printing in the full width of the pattern carries that method into 1:72 scale as well: you cut and lay out the widths yourself according to documentation, including the right orientation and joins. The result is more faithful than universal simplified sheets.
In a small scale the preparation of the surface decides everything, so sand it smooth and spray it to a gloss, because every unevenness is magnified under a decal. Cut the strips with a new blade, lay them with plenty of water and position them with the tip of a brush; use softener sparingly, because a thin decal ripples under it quickly. Cut the rib tapes as narrow as possible, because in 1:72 an exaggerated width is jarring. Close the whole with a thin coat of satin or matte clear.
This is a decal sheet, an accessory to a model. The aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
