1:72 Yokosuka D4Y Suisei - masks for the national insignia without a white outline from Dead Design, for spraying the Japanese insignia in the rendering without an outline directly onto the camouflage of the model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Dead Design painting masks for spraying the Japanese national insignia in the rendering without a white outline, cut for a model of the carrier-based bomber Yokosuka D4Y Suisei in 1:72 scale. The variant without an outline corresponds to the machines on which the red circles were applied directly onto the camouflage finish - typically on the upper and side surfaces of dark green aircraft. Spraying secures a sharp edge and a surface identical with the paint around it, which you will never quite achieve with decals.
The Yokosuka D4Y Suisei was a fast carrier-based dive bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The design staked everything on a small frontal area and clean aerodynamic shapes; the aircraft also served in the reconnaissance role, and at the end of the war some machines were deployed for kamikaze attacks as well. It was built with the Aichi Atsuta inline engine and with the Kinsei radial engine alike.
The templates will be appreciated by builders of Japanese carrier-based aviation who want faithful markings with no compromises - especially on machines with a markedly weathered finish, where a decal can be told at first glance.
These are painting masks, that is an accessory to a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
