Fujimi Type 74 in 1:76 scale — a package of two kits of the Japanese main battle tank of the Ground Self-Defense Force. An ideal basis for a platoon on a diorama or for a comparison build.
Responsibility details are not available.
This package from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi holds two complete plastic kits of the main battle tank Type 74 in the small 1:76 scale. Two machines in one box are practical for dioramas — armored hardware rarely moved singly in the field, and a pair of tanks looks far more alive on a base than a lone machine.
The Type 74 from Mitsubishi served the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force from the middle of the 1970s as the backbone of the tank arm. It carried a 105 mm gun and stood out for its hydropneumatic suspension, thanks to which it could tilt its hull and use the broken Japanese terrain to fire from covered positions. The more modern Type 90 and Type 10 gradually replaced it, but a number of machines remained in service long after 2000.
Two identical kits tempt you into production-line building — prepare the parts of both models at once and the work will speed up. It is more interesting, though, to tell them apart: a different arrangement of stowage, an open commander's hatch or different weathering. The basis is a two-tone camouflage of green and brown, a wash in the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
