A plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) in 1:800 scale from the manufacturer Academy. It is a popular and easily built model with a detailed superstructure (the island), an engraved deck and hull. A numerous air group and deck vehicles are included, so the flight deck can be filled faithfully.
USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) was the last conventionally powered (non-nuclear) aircraft carrier of the US Navy in active service. She served for decades and was decommissioned in 2009. Characteristic of her are the angled flight deck, the island on the starboard side and the elevators for moving aircraft between the decks.
Paint the hull and the flight deck with an airbrush, and apply the deck markings as decals onto a smooth base. Assemble and paint the small aircraft and vehicles separately, then place them around the deck. The lower part count makes the kit suitable for the less experienced as well; for a striking display in a case, add a stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
