The maker is the Japanese brand Bandai, which builds its plastic science fiction ranges as snap-fit - the individual parts clip into one another and are molded directly in color, so the model can usually be built without glue and without painting. Ultraman is one of the longest-lived Japanese science fiction brands, and in its modern form it has moved from the classic giant hero to an armored combat suit worn by a human figure. The individual suits are told apart by a version number and by their equipment; the epithet in the name refers to the form with a complete set of weapon modules. Visually it is a combination of smooth armor surfaces, mechanical joints and attachable weapon items, close to the robot designs on which Bandai has built its model range.
Nip the parts off with cutters a little away from the sprue and level the remains of the gate with a scalpel or a fine file - on a part molded in color that is cleaner than abrasive paper, which dulls the surface. Do not force the joint connections together; check the orientation of the part against the instructions first. If you are going to paint the model, degrease the plastic first and use a primer; without it the paint holds badly on the smooth surface. Breaking the model down into subassemblies makes the hidden areas easier to reach. Fine panel lines are brought out by a paneliner, which runs into the engraving by capillary action and whose excess is wiped away.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
